PTRC: The Principles of Traffic and Transport lecture series

lecture

Our Graduate Transport Planner, Shannon has completed the PTRC: The Principles of Traffic and Transport lecture series, as part of her Continuing Professional Development.

The 20-week lecture series provided an excellent introduction to those who are new to Transport Planning, covering topics such as Transport Policy, Transport Modelling, Transport Assessments, Managing Demand, Designing for Vehicles, Pedestrians and Cyclists, Road Safety, Transport Surveys, Speed Management and Delivering Transport Infrastructure.

The course was led by professionals in the field of transport from various companies and covering various disciplines.

“The course has made me feel more confident in my role as a Graduate Transport Planner and provided an opportunity to hear from professionals in the field of transport about their varying roles and the different players involved in Transport Planning. The course also highlighted the likely future changes in transport and how both technological advancements and changes in policy are likely to influence transport networks in the near and distant future and how we may adapt to these in planning terms.

Having also been able to complete courses on transport modelling software (LINSIG) whilst here at Hub Transport Planning, it's great to be part of a company that supports the professional development of its employees and I am looking forward to partaking in further courses in the future to support my career progression.”
