Transport planning advice for new Bedworth residential development

Hospital Lane Bedworth planning application

We’re very pleased to have helped land promoter Richborough Estates secure a resolution to grant planning permission for a residential development in Bedworth.

Their proposals for the 75-acre site off Hospital Lane include up to 455 new homes, senior living units, 25% on-site affordable housing provision and a 2,000 sq m district centre.

Our associate director James Corbett provided the transport advice for the planning application, including:

  • Initial advice on the proposed access strategy for the development. This included improvements to public transport in the vicinity of the site and improved pedestrian/cycle connectivity to the wider area.
  • A Transport Assessment to support the application. This involved use of the Nuneaton and Bedworth Wide Area Model (NBWA) and required detailed discussions with Warwickshire County Council’s framework consultants who operate the model on their behalf.
  • Travel Plan to promote sustainable travel patterns to and from the site.

Richborough Estates is now marketing the site to secure a development partner. Visit their website here to find out more.
