Director Gerard McKinney set to cycle 600 miles for charity

Gerard McKinney on charity cycle ride

Our director Gerard McKinney is hitting the west coast of Ireland this weekend for a challenging 600-mile charity bike ride!

Gerard is doing the annual ride with around 40 other cyclists from Birmingham Irish Cycle Appeal (BICA), along with a backup team.

They will be raising money for small charities and individuals including: Midwifery Bereavement Facilities (Birmingham Women’s & UHCW Hospitals), Birmingham Hospice, Soft UK, Kingsbury SEN Academy, along with several smaller Irish charities providing care for children.

The ride will begin at Mizen Head on Saturday 21st July, taking in parts of the Wild Atlantic Way, and finish eight days later at Malin Head.

Gerard said: “I have taken part in the annual ride previously, but this is the one I’m really looking forward to.

“It will be a true test against the terrain and weather, through stunning landscapes taking in parts of the Wild Atlantic Way, with a fantastic group of friends raising cash for great causes.”
